After a hectic detailing session here is a quick reflection shot taken in my garage.

LOL Check where the sky meets sky.

Sorry for the ugly trailer in the foreground. Kinda spoils it.
very impressive! products used etc?
wow and thats on silver!!!
Well, this was after a second round of "playing with the G220"

1. Washed with GC Shampoo
2. Clayed
3. M80 with M8006 Megs polishing pad
4. Car-Lack 68 NSC Acrylic Sealant applied with a MF pad
5. Leave for between 25 and 45 minutes.
5. Buff off with MF cloth

Step 5 is quite critical. Less than 25 minutes and it hasn't dried/begun to cure properly and more than 45 minutes it's a b*tch to remove.

This is when I took the pic.

It has to continue to cure for 24 hours before application of Car-Lack 68 LLS Acryl Wax which can be layered or topped with Carnauba. So I will apply this next weekend.
Very impressive Springbok - even the Golf across the road looks clean in the reflection Clap

What are your impressions of the G220 after your "playing around".

I guess the trailer is full of spares - the price one pays for owning an Alfa Rofl

Nah after getting fed up with the flymo attacking his car, he has relegated it to the confines of the trailer Rofl
Bets reflections I've seen on silver. Excellent work Alistair, always enjoy reading posts containing pics of the Italian Stallion.
Great work, I need to break out secret weapons on my silver car.

I am enjoying using it but really feel like I am "flying by the seat of my pants". For example I used a marker pen to make a small mark on the backing plate and only then realised that I was applying too much pressure as the pad was occilating but not spinning very fast. I still don't know what the right combination is?
the pad should always be spinning and never bogged down...

you need to vary the pressure so that this is the case, and the pressure needs to vary has the product breaks downs... and also when using different products...
But for it to spin, you must use hardly any pressure at all, and then it feels like it's not working properly.

I think I need more practice (or some lessons!!)
ok, is your pad clean? Especially when using M83 you need to make sure you clean the pad with a microfibre cloth after every panel. A dirty pad will cause it to bog.

Also the angle at which you are using the machine is important. There should be no pressure outside the center of the pad. i.e. no extra pressure on one single edge. Pressure should be applied uniformly...
