I came home today to find a much awaited package waiting for me. A bit of stock of the usual suspects (Raceglaze Lambswool wash mitts, Leather Kits, etc) along with some new products to fill orders (Hi Nick Bluebiggrin ) and for me to play around with Clap

The Raceglaze Leather Kits remain unchanged at R400 while the Lambswool wash mitts have come down to R140 from R165 (mainly due to the exchange rate), which is good news.

The RG XL wheel brushes have also finally arrived and appear to be a decent alternative to the Ez Detail/Daytona brushes. Price wise they are a steal at R125 compared to R250 on the others. I'll be putting these to the test this weekend along with the other new brushes mentioned below Icon9

I also got in a few of the Melody Wheel Back brushes from Rich @ PB and they look like they will be a winner for cleaning arches and brake/suspension parts. They look very much like toilet brushes only smaller. I brought in a few extra which are available at R85.

Other than that I got in some Lambswool Dusters from the guys @ PB. I've been using a fong kong one for some time now and really find it usefull, especially when polishing. They are great for removing polishing dust as well as for general dusting duty on both the interior and exterior.

The best way to use them is to pull the duster through your hand (in one direction) thereby building up a static charge in the wool. Glide the duster lightly over the surface and the static electricity will pull all the dust up and off the paint. There is no need for excessive pressure as with other car dusters and best of all you can simply rinse it out under a running tap and leave it out to dry Clap

Price wise the dusters are a little on the expensive side at R245 but they provide a great alternative to using a QD during the week to keep your car dust free with minimal surface contact Bluebiggrin

The multi-coloured pads under the RG XL brushes are the abrasive pads I use to clean exhausts and bare metal parts. They come in a set of 6 pads ranging from very coarse (brown) to non abrasive (white). Previously I only used the Green and Maroon pads (the rest are not available locally) which have yielded great results. I am looking forward to seeing how much better a finish can be obtained by using the grey and white pads which have less cut Str8pimp

Pricing on the kit of 6 pads is R145 which is good compared to the loose prices of the pads I was buying locally at R35 each Thumb

Aside from the above I have a few samples of new waxes from RG to play with, along with some Mirka sanding discs (P2000 & P4000) for use on either the DA or rotary. If anyone wants some sanding pads I have a few spare @ R35ea

I have 2 bottles of a new tire dressing to play with as well which, based on the pics I have seen, leaves a terrific new look finish on tires...

I will put up some more detailed info on the new products as soon as I have some time to photograph them, etc. This weekend I will also be able to play with them properly and see how they fare....More details to follow Thumb

I've had mine for around 6 months now and it is still good as new. The key with any genuine lambswool wash mitt is not to leave it standing in water as it rots (just ask Wusman Bluebiggrin ).

The new batch are also slightly different to the older ones I had previously. They now have a inner lining where the others were raw hide...Feels alot nicer now if that makes any difference to you!

Siya also shredded his Mothers wash mitt which he replaced with a RG one. I am sure he can give you some independent feedback on it Thumb

Do you intend on using it on a daily basis, or only on weekends?

Do you guys have some Aussie blood in you that causes you to ravage anything sheep related? I have had my Mothers Lambswool wash mitt for over a year now and the only visible wear is a stretched cuff. After each wash I simply rinse it out with clean water and hang it up to air dry.

Dave - 1 lambswool duster for me please.
I would like one of those RG XL Wheel brushes, seems more cost effective in comparison to the Daytona... But ill order it all together with the DA towards the end of the mth Dave... ClapClap

Nope, unfortunately not but I do have 2 or 3 bottles available seperately. The Leather Kit contains the Cleaner, Balm, brush, applicator and MF towel.

Boet I'm not sure what you have and haven't got, will discuss with you via IM.

As for machine washing the mitts thats a definite Nono

Rinse under clean water after use and then squeeze out as much water as possible (do not wring it out). After that hang it up to dry and it should be fine. I've been doing that with mine and it's still good as new!

Seriously though it worked out alot more expensive than I expected. You can decide when you hear what it costs Rofl
Lets hear the price Uncle Dave
I am also looking for a product for wheels along the lines of smartgel. Gel based wet look dry to the touch. Obviously something that comes in a gallon or 5l

The closest you will get at that quantity is Meguiar's All Season Dressing. The other alternative is to go with a water based dressing. Meguiar's Hyper Dressing is expensive but it can be diluted based on your needs (glossy vs. matte look).
