Has anyone heard of NON DESTRUCTIVE DETAILING?

Why I ask is that my friends uncle is into detailing overseas, and he says detailing is moving more into non destructive polishing etc.

This does make sense, but is it possible peeps?
From what I can see its about measuring the thickness of the clearcoat before polishing
I've not heard this term before.

A quick Google reveals a link to PTG's
Never heard the term...

Non Destructive: i'm guessing thats why you start off with the least aggresive combo and work your way up!
Non-Destructive = Glaze jobs...There is no other way of correcting the paintwork afaik
Non-destructive detailing would be avoiding all the hacks out there that make your car look good in low light conditions, but come with a disclaimer to avoid exposure to direct sunlight.

Included in this list would be the menaces that harass you at shopping centres, as well as anyone who would turn to Handy Andy and Brasso as detailing products Bluebiggrin.
i think non destructive detailing = sumthing like a quick sprayon detailer (no harm to the body work, just a quick shine or glaze finish?
