will be asking lots of questions soon, just wana browse and see if my questions have already been answered before posting them
Well that's a good start!

Why don't you give us some details about your ride... No doubt all the guys will chip in with all their tips to keep it in top condition!
well its a diamond black citi golf

last glazed in 2007 and just normal bucket washing and taking it to the car wash which i wana kick myself for now when i see the swirls
contacted 2 guys about detailing again, ones prices was way too high (started at R1100) and the other decided not to reply to my emails so i said screw it, im sure i can do atleast half the job at a minute fraction of the price so let me get things done myself rather.

one thing that i would like to know is what causes water to collect in a complete layer on the roof after a wash, and after wiping with a chamois, water remains on the paint???

will a claying fix this

Liqui-Moly

Hello! And welcome

A clay bar removes paint contamination, polish and wax. So technically the clay bar would make it worse I think?

It sounds like the layer of wax on the roof is depleted... So to solve that I would suggest a god claying and some good polish and wax/sealant.

Is your car that lovely metallic black?

Mike
will be claying this coming weekend, will give feedback and pics once done

it is that pretty black Bluebiggrin

Liqui-Moly

Oooh lovely. Its the only colour I would have a Golf in. Awesome flake too.

Mike
welcome dood,

Hope you find all teh info you need here Wink

I would also suggest a good claying, and then some wax.

The way that the water lies on your roof is typical of a non waxed paint surface, it should be back to making lovely beads of water right after that wax.

sweet
thanx don
Welcome dood, great to see another member getting serious about maintaining their car Wink

Pity you didn't come right in getting your cabbie sorted. I recall quoting you for a glaze type job but didn't hear anything back after that Iono

Anyways welcome again and glad to have you around Wink
