Meguiars hey Tongue
I did a bit of research before I bought my first car.
lol, I always used to use the rally wash and wax shampoo stuff, in copious amounts, and on the VERY rare occasion, my cars would get a bit of rally wax applied with a piece of damn torn off t-shirt and buffed off with some mutton cloth from midas Wink

I also used to throw everything over the car that was left in the bucket after the wash Uhoh2

eish! how times have changed
I have some imported car wash supposed to last 6 months, still got more than half after 2years.

also used to throw dirty water on car afterwards

method used :
rinse
soap with chamois
rinse
dry with chamois
done Bluebiggrin
all in the sun
I learnt from my dad and he was a meticulous chap. He used a sponge and a chamois and even all those years ago he first rinsed with a hose, washed from a bucket using car shampoo, rinsed again, and dried with the chamois. He used to Polish (Wax?) twice a year with Turtle Wax.

He put a Cobra Exhaust (twin chrome pipes) on the family Valiant and I thought it was sooo cool!!
Used to use Shield Wash 'n Wax followed by Mirror Plate Polish and Turtle Wax Colour X (I think it was called Colour X). From there I moved up to 'luxury' Meguiars Gold Class Bluebiggrin
Yeap was Shield wash and wax for me too with a sponge and a chamois to dry. First "premium' product I got was Meguairs gold class trim detailer.
Yip Shield wash and wax for me too! Dried wif a chamois and don't forget Diamond Guard!!!
For the wheels that sticky silicone spray LOL

Mine was well.. Detailerish from the start...

Used to rinse.
Spray wheels with Prepsol or APC 3000 (still do this)
Use normal wash and wax shampoo...
Rinse.
Dry.

All with a chamois and not treating trim etc.

Washing a car in my life has become a tedious process...lol!
