Silver Golf6 GTi done by Zee - onyx - 11-12-2010 04:44 PM

Silver GTi 6 with R-LEDs and it looks sweeeeeet!
Except of course for the hundreds & thousands of little 'specks & spots' ALL OVER the paintwork!

And thus my reason for taking care of this ride over the past weekend.

Here we go!

First up, pulled into the Wash Bay for a good ol shampoo

Vehicle only 6/7 months old but the wheels needed a thorough cleaning

Man that GTi grill is a little PITA to clean and keep it that way

After around 2 hours or so we pulled her into the Work Bay to dry and inspect

Vehicle received the Clay Bar treatment and after a long while and some elbow grease we finally managed to clear the majority of it... All the while, Marco looking over my shoulder and saying "You've missed a spot" Bluebiggrin
Clay was pretty clean except for a metal filing we picked up on the rear quarter

Satisfied with the result from Claying, i set about taping up in preparation for a light polish - the vehicles paintwork was in great condition being only 6/7 months old!

Here's the afters!
(You'll notice that Marco was a little 'Snap Happy') Rofl

Finally had some time to update!

Looking good Zee...Interesting wheels on the GTI as well, are those the new stock wheel design, or aftermarket ones (VW parts bin perhaps)?

Thanks David (i'll assume you're talking about the car - i have been working out though) Bluebiggrin

Stock VW wheels... Marco just wanted his to stand out from the GTi crowd. (Plans underway for a set of 19s in the near future!)

Nice results on an unrewarding colour.

I'm still envious of the detailing facility you have access to.

I likey the wheels ... Bluebiggrin
I drive the same vehicle (Red) .. so was looking for a few mk6 GTi "trademarks" ... Standard 18" Diamond cut GTi wheels are expensive ...

GTi Red is my favourite colour.... (Ever since seeing Siyas Red GTi)
Agreed on those Diamond Cut Wheels - The R-LEDs cost a pretty penny too!

Hey Siya,
Apologies bud, missed your comment some how... Thinking

Thanks, having the facilities makes it a pleasure and that much easier to work on a vehicle!

As for finding the time... that was my last escapade for a little while sadly.
Anees turns two in a week... and the arrival of my second son due around March/April.

How's your little one? Still keeping that GTi in tip-top condition?
