Tried using a QD while drying? Other is to use a foam lance if you have that available.

I would avoid the duster despite the positive praise it recieves. Even with the stickyish fibres & static there are still going to be dust particles being dragged around on the surface creating the potential for swirls

Yep, I agree about the duster. No need to use it before a wash and try cutting it out altogether for a while and see if there is a difference.

Your washing method sounds good.

A foam lance deposits copious amounts of shampoo foam (think of a spa bath) all over the car which softens and sort of "melts" the dirt and dust. You then rinse it off and wash in the normal way.

Hope you come right with the swirls.

gonna be hard to resist using the duster during the week with all this dust around... everywhere I park there's dust dust dust... aaaaaaaargh!

I use the duster, works for me. Just pisses me off when it decides to streak.
