Help
Hey guys
I need your help. I want to remove all the fine scratches and swirl marks on my car, what product would work best? I am planning on going through to poor-boys/chemical guys here in CT to get it so i would appreciate a recommendation that they stock. I dont have a DA but i will borrow a mates one for the day/days... Also what product would be best for sealing/polishing after the actual correction? Ive currently got some Maguires products, Polish, Waxes, ect but thought there might be something better i could use?? Thanks guys!!! ![]() ![]()

RE: Help
Yo Wayno, I am no guru, but I can only tell you what I have used and learnt here.
You will need a clay, to remove fallout and bonded contaminants, any one they sell should be good, Smartclay is great. Any fine polish, preferably with diminishing abrasives will help getting rid of swirls, I use Menzerna SIP for slightly deeper scratches or harder paint and 106 FA for lighter scratches/swirls. The Chemical Guys range will be awesome though. Various pads, for DA/rotary, fine polishing/finishing, and a more coarse polishing pad (yellow I think) will help. As far as LSP goes, this is your choice and dependant on you car colour and what finish you are looking for. Carn swears by Werkstadt trio for lighter colours and whites, I love Petes 53 on Black and Jetseal topped with Petes 53 on red is amazingly wet and beautiful. I hope this is of some help, sure a flood of goodadvice is on its way to you. Enjoy pampering your car bud. |

RE: Help
Send pics of the kinda scratches you want to remove.
Also list the products you already have. You might already have everything you need for a basic job. |

RE: Help
Hey Wayno,
In order to remove the swirling you will need some polishes and pads to use on whichever DA/rotary you will be using. I generally stick with the Menzerna polishes and 3M pads as they have never let me down and always produce a fantastic result! As far as sealants/waxes my recommendation would depend on 2 things, namely the colour and the frequency with which you would like to apply them. Generally speaking sealants tend to outlast waxes and look better on darker colours. On lighter colours a sealant is often best (looks wise) as opposed to a wax. You can also mix and match if you like (sealant topped with wax) for the best possible protection! As far as Don(Freerider) goes he is pretty much out of the game. Naushad and Mo have taken over his Poorboys webshop but they are also going to be Jhb based afaik. David : 083-642-2118 www.mobile-image.co.za
