VW Caddy - Work in progress
Not sure if anyone remembers seeing pics of my Caddy on the Forum in the past.

Story goes that I bought the car back in Dec 2009.
Looked a long time for a Black Caddy and eventually came across this one standing at a Ford Dealership.

Without thinking too much about it i just took it.
It had a ding or a dent on just about every panel of the entire car but i didnt care... i just wanted a black Caddy.

So off course whenever i took pics of the car I tried hard not to highlight the imperfections on it - he he he.

My idea was always to have it fixed up and sorted out then have sign writing done on it.

So at last I got around to it... Last weekend I had a Friend of a friend of a friend spend an entire weekend fixing, prepping and spraying the car. I also aksed that they use the darkest variant of the VW Black magic on the car. So the plan was not to book any cars for the weekend past and just flat and polish.

Well did I get a suprise. Flatting a sprayed car is NO Joke. jeepers.
I bought myself the Meguiars Uni-Grit 2000 paper and a block and got cracking friday. By sat morning 11am I gave up. I just couldnt get a good finish. So I got Mike the Meguiars Guru to come help me out.

In no time he got my car to start looking like a million bucs. and as he went along he taught me all the nitty grittys of Flatting and Polishing with a Wool Mop and M95 - Speed Cut.

So a whole Sunday basically later... I managed to complete one side of the car about 90% and the Bonnet. Still plenty of work to do!

here are some pics.
1st pic is a before shot taken Sat morning... Only the front left panel on the pic can you see has been flatted and Polished.

OH and I had my car lowered... 50mm Drop... on a caddy thats nothing. They go up to 90mm drop in the UK. But here I thought rather keep it semi that go all out.

some garage shots last nite

the Megs M95 really works a charm I must say. It cuts out the sanding marks so nicely and brings up the gloss quickly. Gem of a product.

Some shots taken this morning quickly before the rain.

Myself and Grant had a Sonax branded Corsa utility back in 2006. Didn't last long however as the franchise arrangement fell apart at the seams shortly thereafter Hammerhead

Wasn't anywhere near as cool as Vincents van though Thumb
