honda civic 03
Hola everyone! Wavey

I just waited the time I’ll be free for a whole day, but it wasn’t to be. So I managed to do this Honda civic and a Toyota Vitz over a few days. Not a full correction, but just to uplift their appearance. Both looked tired. Uhoh2

Here goes the Honda. the vitz will follow:
Not too many before pics. I had to work a little at a time.

Washing & Cleaning:

Oh the tape! This was a 2nd wash. The other half was done a couple days before

dried with mf towels.

Claying

Clay on half the roof. 1st round:

2nd round

It was more or less the same for the horizontal panels.

The car was taped (piecemeal of course!!)

A 50/50 shot

The half that I did before repelled the water. Water would cling to the other half.

Products used:
1. Local car shampoo n MPC
2. ONR
3. Uber clay from i4detailing
4. Makita rotary
5. LC CCS pad (Orange) + 1 white polishing Flexipad (did the lower vertical panels with it)
(Most of the time I’ve used the 4” pad. May be it’s time to move on with the 6.5” ones.)

6. One home made sun gun using led instead of halogen
7. Menz Power Gloss S34A & 203s
8. Megs 80 speed glaze that I used for lube with PG (Iono Don’t know if it’s good or bad but it surely increases the working time. i had 2 32 oz bottles of it, now 1 and half )

Polishing
here are some pics

Well done Zaid!!!

Those headlights look a lot better but good job all round. It's amazing the dirt build-up you accumulate around door handles, washer nozzles, badges and fuel caps etc.

Thanks for your kind words and encouragment Stax Thumb

it's a pity both headlights have cracks. So I didnt want to take any risk going further. It was done with menz PG on LC orange pad.

the toothbrush has been a very good companion too. i'll dig my hard disk for some pics.

Very very nice. I love what you did with the headlights

Quick question: After polishing the headlights like that, do you then have to treat them with something? I remember reading they needed an anti uv coating or something like that....

Thanks a lot pals Thumb

As for protecting headlights, yes, we should seal them. I wish the pros could chime in with more insight. I've seen one of Paul (Accident Guru) do a very fine job on headlights.

But unfortunately i didn't coz don't any product for this right now.

I've read some detailers use Megs PlastX, while Todd Cooperrider uses 303.

May be the link helps. Thumb
