MK2 GTi 16 Valve

Hello guys

Ok heres th dealio.

I have a budget of R40 000 to spend. I dont want to use it all obviously......

Im looking for a MK2 GTi 16 Valve... Prefferably in black. And good condition if possible.

My plan is to restore her to her former beauty and make it a project car.

But I cant find any... So if you guys have one for sale. Or know someone with one at a good price give me a shout please. I was gonna get a Smart Car but didnt feel like being gay....

I found a 16v for R30 000. Minter of note....

BTW the Smart was going to be bought with the intention of dropping a Smartuki kit into it (Hayabusa engine)....

The 8V goes for about R15 000 to R20 000.

The 16V is also quite heavily priced but look at what your getting. lol

once again its all relative, I looked at 525i's that where advertised for 8k then some that where advertised at 30k and even though its the same year and similar kms, some of them where total shit!

sometimes you get what you pay for

Yes fully agreed.

I would never pay that for that car though... Even with the mods...

It simply is not worth it. If Im gonna pay that amount then at least give me the best. lol

Neat Mk II 16V's will be difficult to find, unmodded neat examples even harder. Good luck with the hunt

id pay 40k for a mint mk2 16v...
8v goes for 15-20k ja but what condition is it?id rather pay 25k for one without RUST and doesnt need work than pay 15k for a HOK thats been covered in body filler..

Thats exaactly how I feel... I mean if Im being ripped off then i wont buy.

But Im happy to spend up to R40 000 on a 16 valve as long as its in decent condition... My plan is to work on it though.
