Latest Purchase......Now I'm broke!! - STaX - 29-11-2011

I needed to get quite a bit of kit, including a new polisher as my Fragram "el cheapo" wasn't doing the job. So I splashed out, along with someone else(to remain anonymous unless they desire otherwiseBluebiggrin), on some goodies from the UK.
Between us we go this lot and I must say I'm well chuffed. Dying to try out the polisher but work is now keeping me busy, after 3 weeks of doing nothingBawling.

3M Polisher
3M Pads(Compounding, Polishing, Finishing)
CG Blacklight
Dodo Juice Supernatural Hybrid
Menz FG500
Menz PO203S
Menz PO106FA
Gallon bottle pump dispensers
Wolfs Aggressive clay
Eurow shag pile double density cloths (soooo soft)
Meguiars Lambswool wash mitt

All very nice but I now need to find time to play.

Paired with a compound, creates aggressive cutting.
On a test panel, i managed to cut through the clear coat on the edge

Well thats a given isnt it ?
Thats why its called a compounding pad and thats why you dont use an agressive compound unless its needed

Did you even measure the thickness of the paint before you tested it ?
and as a Given the edges are always thinner than the inner parts

And if you were using a rotary you need to be alot more carefull as the cutting power is more than that of a DA

Thanks Onyx, your level of expertise is beyond the superhero picture above

Keep up the good work !! and thanks for the warning about the seriousness of the 3m compounding pads on the thin outer edges of the panel !!!!!!! I dunno what we would do without u

So who's the 'someone else'....

We want to see your kit! Thumb

RE: Latest Purchase......Now I'm broke!! - STaX - 30-11-2011

That's all the kit from both of us.

Shipping costs a killer right...
I'm guessing ±100pound to courier?

RE: Latest Purchase......Now I'm broke!! - STaX - 30-11-2011

In total yes, but it only cost us 78 pounds because the supplier under quoted Bluebiggrin, they put in the extra.
Saying they have never sent to SA before. So we won in the end.

WINNING! Clap

Good thing that they changed their policy on shipping to SA - i know that i4detailing also now ships to our shores!

RE: Latest Purchase......Now I'm broke!! - STaX - 30-11-2011

Yup but at 130 pounds per shipment. That's why we went with CYC.

i4d was actually cheaper with some things but overall it came to more.
