My MKV Cleanup

On Friday I did a quick cleanup off my dads 320D Bimmer, it was filthy to say the least, now pics unfortunately. But then on Sunday I did my car as well, it did not need much cleaning as i clean it regularly, but I shampoo'ed the carpets and dressed the doors and panels etc... I washed her and dressed the wheels as well and took some pics off what needed to be corrected. i am a bit off a photo whore so bare with me:

I do not have any before pics, my wife hi-jacket the camera, but here is some after pics, there is a bit of sand on the carpets after driving it



Now for the pics off the spots in serious need of attention
A scratch on the rear left door

Cannot see much, but there is some hard water marks on the roof

Clear coat sctratches on the right rear door

A small vacuum I picked up from my local P'nP for in-between interior cleaning

My lates addition to my DUB, hopefully I'll be able to install it this weekend

I want to know, will I be able to clear these marks on the car by hand or DO I need a machine?

Nice and neat

The bird etchings and scratches may come out with some ScratchX or similiar by hand. Worth a shot before investing in a machine!

Interior looks nice and clean!

With the products in your arsenal, i dont think you'll get much correction. But like Carn says, an off the shelf product like Megs ScratchX (or other) may just do the job... worth a go!

What are those still sealed blue cloths?

I always judge a detailer or car guy by what the interior looks like. On that score you have passed the test.

Correction by hand is possible, it just takes a lot more effort and patience. As Onyx has indicated, the products you currently have won't do much in terms of correction, but you have indicated that a nice order is on its way to you.

I would agree with the advice by Carn and Onyx, but I am not the biggest fan of ScratchX. It does work, but I prefer to have something like Ultimate Compound which is more versatile and can be used for spot repairs or treating the whole car. It also provides you with a wider window of aggressiveness depending on how you use it.

Thanx guys, I really try to take care of my car(s). The blue cloths are m/f 40x40's I order from one of my suppliers and pay it at cost so that I do not have to pay top dollar at other shops, I say if not, why not. I posted the hand correction post before I read that I will be buying Woodies' pre-owned G220, so I wil not be attempting the correction by hnd, I will try to limit the damage and keep it clean until I can get the machine and correct it then. In my other post I am looking for machine operated products, so please read that one and answer me there on products to use for this type of cerrection, all those mentioned above and swrl marks.
