Erm....20 years ago maybe. Nowadays electrical is the least of your problems. Cambelt replacement, ill-fitting body panels, squeaks, rattles, high depreciation, shite or non-existant stealer service.....but electrical?...Nah.

Does the phallic reflection on the bonnet in any way describe the drivers of these vehicles?

Looks like a big Alfa 166. With no road rash, the owner must be and Alfisti, the car is either not driven, or has just undergone a respray.
