I might be wrong here, but as far as I know, Paypal doesnt pay in SA Rands, They will take your Rands and pay into any other currency though. I heard FNB is linking up with them or something, so that may have changed, or will still change in the future. Sorry, not much help.

Paypal and FnB have teamed up for paypal, where you can withdraw paypal funds yes.
But i am still to see an SA store use the paypal feature... cause i loaded some funds for something in the states and now i got money that i cannot get out, and i dont smaak like opening an fnb account for such little money.
so now im stuck with a few hundred in a paypal account

I buy on ebay regularly and i've never been scammed. (touch wood) You have to make sure you buy from a powerseller or someone with lots of sales and very good feedback. Also make sure they have ebay-protection which will enable you to get your money back should the transaction turn sour. Ebay, when used wisely, is an excellent platform.

I've used Paypal many times (always for overseas purchases) and never been scammed.
Now that Paypal is operating in SA I am sure it won't be long before more online shops accept them.
