Weather in Cape Town a bit overcast today (24 March 2010)...

I was actually at Naieem's place “Auto B” on Sunday ... he wasn't there... met his brother Ridwan though...
… he said you guys were coming down to CPT and I should pop around for more detailing info from the pro’s...

Pity I’m at work … woulda been cool to learn more first hand …

Hopefully the next "Detailing Day" in CPT ...

Yo Guys.

So Naush tthem never got as far as to me, i however did spend the day with them on Wednesday. All I can say is wow and they will know why. I spent an entire day watching an oke detail a car. Very helpful little hints and tips. A must say that some of the products used were awesome.........I couldnt help but immediately purchase some products.

Thanks Naush and Mo, Was a priceless day and thanks for all the help with the million questions.

Naush & Moe (CG) would have been there for product info/demo's, but had to go back to JHB!
I found out that the owner's mother also works for the same company as I do...
So had my vehicle washed there in show of support ...

Strange that you mention that...Was considering putting one together for next year with photo's from the Show n Shine section. Only snag is the lack of content aside from myself and one or 2 other guys

Was looking through the Meguiar's Calendar ... Those are all "studio type" photo's ... With the staged lighting etc... Reflections are out of this world!!! With the paintwork reflecting different shades here and there ...

also, u guys going to the Castrol Xtreme Auto Show? sounds like it's going to be good this year???

Think an "agenda" probably needs to be setup for the day (as recommended by the JHB detail day feedback)

How to do everything properly?(everything or probably from a list like below)
Practical Hands-on training ...

wheel cleaning
Washing (2 bucket method) - grit guard?
Drying (waffle weave/drying towels)
Claying (lubricant to use)
washing & drying (again?)
swirl removal (hand/machine)
DA or Rotary (machine differences/benefits)
polishing (hand & machine) product choices
Pad choices? (What pad to be used per purpose?)
cutting/polishing/buffing/finishing(products/pads)
sealants (benefits/application/removal)
waxing (benefits/application/removal)
Window cleaning
Rubber/Vinyl/plastic

Uhm ya dude LOL.

I guess for those of us in the business its pretty simple and will be more beneficial for "personal" detailers. Throw a few ideas down and we can create something.

I do have most of the equipment i.e DA and rotary plus alot of products and whatever will be needed. I am however currently low on MF and WW drying magnets.

We could even do test panels on a bonnet DA vs Rotary or compare sealants etc?
